After four long days on the road, we were all looking forward to a reasonably short ride through the fields and pastures of Wisconsin. Our on time departure gave us plenty of time and watching the scenery enlivened the morning. With an overcast sky we weren’t even that hot which was very nice. All was going well as we proceeded up Hwy 67 toward Mayville where we were to meet Phil who drove separately from Jupiter, FL. The only glitch was a few drops of rain which blew past our windscreens as we stayed dry.
While waiting for Phil, we learned about a Cheese factory in the next town about 5 miles down the road called Theresa. So, we made that our next destination. Widmer Cheeses were in a container for tasting and we then picked out some to bring with us to Elkhart Lake. Unfortunately, the factory workers were at the end of their day and were only cleaning all of the equipment. We have not tasted ours yet but are looking forward to the 6 year old Cheddar.
